Job Description

When an entire city needs to be rendered into a 3D model, utilities buried deep under soil need to be uncovered, highly complex infrastructure projects need to be implemented and even when crime scene investigation needs to be documented – that’s Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon. More than 5,200 employees in 33 countries help us develop the latest technologies for Reality Capture, survey and measurement.

 

Technical Support Engineer – Solutions Group – (Remote or Norcross, GA)

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

    • Provide technical support to end-users and distributors of Leica Geosystems products with primary focus on reference station equipment and software associated with the operation of reference station.
    • Installation of GNSS network software adapting to varied IT setups
    • Management of network adjustment projects including analysis of results
    • Preparation of technical responses in requests for proposals
    • Prepare and present technical presentations and demonstrations
    • Provide product training to customers and salespeople in the USA and Canada.
    • Provide feedback to the engineering organization at Leica
      Geosystems regarding issues encountered to improve product offering

 

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Minimum of four (4) years or more professional work experience in surveying or related field.
  • Proficiency in software associated with Leica Geosystems’ GPS and reference station products specifically Leica Spider Software
  • Experience with network adjustment software and analysis
  • Experience with coordinate computation, reference frames, datums and the management of them
  • Technical experience and knowledge of IT
  • Knowledge of SQL and VMWare an asset
  • Experience in customer support.
  • Proficiency in office software, including, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Powerpoint and email
  • Strong organizational skills
    • Excellent customer interaction skills, especially listening, verbal and written

      Bachelor of Science in Geomatics, Geodesy or equivalent.

    • Professional Surveyor License is preferred, but not required,.
    • The physical capability to lift twenty (20) pounds.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required from time to time to perform duties outside of a normal office environment
    • As necessary for the execution of position duties. Travel of 40% or more is associated with this position.
