Our very own Daniel Litwin is at ISTE 2018 meeting with the respected thought leaders, cutting edge and innovative companies, and educators who are passionate about telling their story to him. We will be updating this as the show goes on with all of photos, interviews, and updates in one place. But if you want to follow it in real time you can follow us on Twitter at @EducationTechMS!

Katie reminds the crowd that our system was based on a very industrial model, and that’s it’s time for a creative overhaul to make students thoughtful problem solvers. It’s the “symptom of system.”

The hesitance of companies and educators to adopt gamification is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Gamfication is an emergent approach to instruction that facilitates and encourages motiviation using game element and mechanics and companies are going all in on this method for today’s youths.
Gameifying learning is definitely a trend I’m seeing at #ISTE18. @GetKahoot told me that for them, game-based quizzes have made assessment more detailed for educators and less stressful for students. ? pic.twitter.com/YiJwZx8Tav

Looking beyond the “shiny toy” is a big part of this year’s #ISTE18, and @MakerBot is making sure educators see the cross-curriculum value in 3D printing. From design and architecture careers to the fine arts…3D printing isn’t going anywhere! ? pic.twitter.com/mjQZPUJjQc

Teaching coding is a lot like teaching a spoken language; focusing on the grammatical minutia at first will only confuse the student. That’s why @PolyupInc is reinforcing the idea of accesible & tangible digital literacy. Had to get a pic with Poly, too!! #ISTE18 pic.twitter.com/dQP6ogw8yk

We caught up with LEGO to discuss how they use technology at different stages of development to teach different skills.
Got a great look at the @LEGO_Education Continuum and how each phase of technology has a new set of skills to reinforce. Finding new ways to implement cross-curriculum learning is always exciting ? #ISTE18 pic.twitter.com/xIETVxupBR
