Social determinants of health have become a large topic of conversation in the healthcare industry. “[Social determinants of health] is defined by the World Health Organization as the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work, and age,” Stevenson said.
These factors are obviously numerous, but physicians can now use data to more accurately gauge the health concerns of a community. Kevin discussed how the industry as a whole is adjusting its thinking and changing moving forward.
