The State of the Display Technology Industry Today

Shay Giuili, CEO, and founder of Primeview Global, brought his 20-plus years of experience in the display technology industry to the podcast. Giuili shared his thoughts on how the digital signage industry has been coping and transforming during the pandemic.

“Today, people expect to see the wow factor in anything, even in a zoom conversation,” Giuili said.

There’s been a lot of dramatic change in the past five years, with display technology getting larger and more affordable. Giuili reminded listeners that it is critical not to get so caught up in future technologies that one loses sight of current business needs in digital displays and signage.

“It’s about asking the customer what issues need to be solved. Everyone’s concerned with reliability, stability, redundancy, and service support in the long run. When we present a product, we can support that product for five to 10 years.”

With the current pandemic, the industry is facing challenges, but new opportunities are emerging as people discover different ways to utilize technology. Large, outdoor LEDs and LCDs can attract shoppers and diners who don’t feel comfortable going indoors to watch a movie or sporting event during the day or evening.

With more and more business employees working from home, conference rooms may require more prominent display technology to accommodate more online meeting participants.

Primeview’s R&D department is always working to stay ahead of current and emerging trends, so they’re ready to meet the needs developing as a result of this extraordinary time.

Giuili said some customers want to try out new technology as soon as it is available, and they are always willing to accommodate those requests.

Scientific assessments show that extreme weather events—including heatwaves, heavy rainfall, and wildfires—are occurring more frequently and with greater intensity, placing growing strain on infrastructure, utilities, and public services. As weather-related disruptions become more costly and harder to…
