Don Doty

Starting in the tower erection business in 1974, Don Doty joined Stainless in 2000 and has served in varying roles covering all aspects of the tower erection industry. Doty’s current role in business development places a priority in understanding and assisting broadcasters in solving the wide range of challenges tower owners face today. With a strong background in safety, Doty speaks nationally at industry events about the importance of tower-related safety issues and is instrumental in furthering safety awareness through the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE), the National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA), and the ANSI/ASSE A10.48 Standard.
A former Chairman of NATE, Doty served on the NATE subcommittee that finalized the A10.48 Standard. He currently serves as President of NWSA’s Board of Directors and participates in various task forces related to improving tower safety standards. He is a contributor to many industry publications and has authored articles on the impacts of the FCC reverse auction on tower owners and how to plan for the repack (e.g., AGL Magazine, February 2016 and TAB 2017). Doty is a licensed construction contractor in Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
