Is The World Ready to Step Into the Metaverse?

On Spatial Perspectives, host Dan Cui will have a one-on-one dialog with innovators and thought leaders in the growing Spatial Reality, or Spatial Computing, market. Cui will invite guests who can discuss the real world use cases of the technology and how it could benefit mankind while exploring any drawbacks and how they might be mitigated.

The internet is constantly evolving. From the days of AOL and dial-up to the power of 5G, the internet continues to redefine itself. So, what’s next? The future of the internet is the metaverse. Spatial Perspectives host Dan Cui welcomed Mike Rubin, the Founder and CEO of Dreamium Labs, about the topic. Rubin has a storied career in technology, from working on one of the first search engines to developing a wireless digital media streaming platform.

Rubin first gave an overview of the metaverse, “It’s the next generation of the internet that’s a more interactive and immersive version. Think of it as a very large game that will influence the next iteration of social interactions.”

Rubin also called the metaverse “bold, grand, and big.” Users will also be able to consume it through multiple platforms. It includes avatars that symbolize who someone is that can interact and engage. He further noted, “It’s the intersection of the next generation of social media, connecting, and commerce.”

Rubin’s company is helping deliver these experiences. “We have a simple statement. The metaverse starts with you.”

It’s an open platform because the metaverse must be interoperable so that digital representatives are transportable. It starts with creating a minii (miniature interactive intelligent personas). “There’s no configuration needed. Behind these scenes were creating an
NFT (non-fungible token) authenticated with your powers, items, rankings, and aesthetical versions within an armored car. It’s introducing you into blockchain and crypto just from a selfie,” Rubin shared.

The minii is only the start of a user’s journey into the metaverse. As technology advances and more users adopt the technology, new worlds will take the internet into a new and exciting frontier.
