Mad Systems Secures Patent Advancing Personalization in Media

The landscape of marketing, advertising and consumer expectations is shifting more rapidly than ever before – and the only way to keep pace is with personalized content able to reach a specific target audience.

In the ProAV space, Mad Systems is forging the path forward.

The company just secured a new patent that, according to the company, covers “the development of personalized media delivery and personalized interactive exhibits based on recognition technologies includinga facial recognition, color recognition, and license plate recognition with an option for correlation of cars, their drivers and their passengers, as well as transactions relating to the use of recognition systems.”

“The new patent covers systems and methods for generating targeted media content,” said Maris Ensing, Mad Systems Founder. “In fact, what it covers is any and all applications where anybody wants to use recognition technology to recognize individuals, groups of individuals, cars, colors, colored flags, stickers … and use that information to [personalize media delivery].

“It’s actually a very broad patent, which is why we’re really excited about it.”

The patent also covers modifications for interactivity, such as the movement of interactive buttons for someone using a wheelchair or a high-contrast version for someone whose vision is impaired.

Finally, the patent also covers recognition for the relationships between people and ensuing choices, such as recognizing families and ensuring that an interactive doesn’t cut off or disappear before every member of the family has seen it.

This patent expands upon a previous one that covered similar ground, but covered systems and methods for providing location-based information about registered users.
